Craciun's gipsy bras band is a traditional band from the Zece Prajini village (Moldova), which knows how and what to play for any apecial occasion: fests, weddings and other family events. The musicians of the band carry on the tradition passed down from generation to generation, practicing from early childhood some astonishing, emotion-provoking rhythms.

Moldova, historical region from the north eastern side of Romania is known for it's isolation, harsh and barren landscapes, but also for the inner poetry of it's inhabitants.

In the small village of Zece Prajini, a few old gypsies, with brass instruments,keep the rhythims of their people alive. These traditional bands, with their songs, accompany the rituals of life: birthdays, christenings and village holidays. Their music play a huge role in the communities.

In the Balkans, the brass bands are largely made up of gypsies, who were able to transform their specific genius, the static style of the occidental bands. Their history dates back to the times of the military bands, used by the royal courts of Turkey and Romania, in the XVII-XIX. Furthermore, the otoman military occupation in the Balkans has left a mark on the music of thr gypsies from the middle Europe. This fascinating mix, morphed during centuries from elements of different regions, improvisations and the playful temper of the gypsy musicians, make this genre of music unique.

Craciun Ivancea, clarinet player and conductor of the 10 Prajini Brass Band, is the 'guardian' of this music passed down from generation to generation, and the artistic connection between the old and the young. For this band, all the generations are present: the old people, who dance to the traditonal songs (sarba, hora, braul), and the young people, who prefer more modern rhythms and have brought songs imported from the indian cinematography, from the European underground and even from the American style to the classical repertory of the band.
